Fire, considered to be one of the first and unforgettable inventions of mankind, has been a constant source of light as well as for cooking and other industrial purposes. Established in 1933, Standard Match Industries is a pioneer and a veteran of high quality safety matches that produce fire instantly, without giving way to hazardous smoke and gas. Founded under the visionary guidance of Shri. N R K Rajarathinam, we have been in this line since the last 75 years, equipped with all the knowledge and understanding of the market requirements. Presently the group is being steered by Sri Yennarkay R. Rajarathnam, a B. Tech graduate, loaded with years of industry experience. His dynamic management qualities, dedication, and commitment have taken the group at par with global counterparts.

We boast of utilizing Swedish Online Match Making Machines in the manufacturing of our safety matches. We have adequate in-house facilities, facilitating the production of 90% of the match making components like splints, veneers, inner & outer skillets, labels, packing materials, etc.

Quality Assurance
Quality
is our strongest point and has been upheld under every circumstance. We
are dealing with a very sensitive element of the universe, i.e., fire,
and hence remain extra careful in ensuring that the products are user
friendly and do not lead to accidental fires. Thus, we maintain a
proper quality control system to make sure that the products are in
accordance with the national and international requirements of quality.
All the parameters like flame, design, durability, strength, etc. are
duly kept in while checking them for quality.
The
raw materials like splints, veneers, board, etc. are tested thoroughly
before their use in the production process. All the procedures like raw
material testing, count, firing quality and packing & finishing,
etc. are conducted at our in-house quality testing centre. Owing to all
these efforts, we have been bestowed with quality certification that
includes ISO, CE, Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), ISI, European Standard (EN 1783: 1997), Egyptian Standards, and Federal Standards.
